How to set up your Orbitkey Key OrganiserUpdated 2 years ago

Here's a quick guide on how to set up your new Orbitkey Key Organiser:

The Key Organiser can be adjusted to your desired tension, thanks to the Locking Mechanism designed to snap into place at every half turn - preventing it from accidentally coming loose over time.

How many keys can I carry in the Key Organiser?

Although we recommend a minimalist approach to key carrying, the Key Organiser can hold between 2 to 7 standard keys (each 2mm thick). We have designed our Locking Mechanism to adjust depending on how many keys you have.

For a minimum of 2 keys, we would recommend using both wave washers in your setup (every Key Organiser comes with two wave washers - one in the Key Organiser and the other is at the bottom of the paper flap that holds the Key Organiser). The wave washers will help keep your keys in place so they won't swivel in and out.

What are the wave washers for, and where does it go?

Every Key Organiser comes with two wave washers - one in the Key Organiser and the other at the bottom of the paper flap that holds the Key Organiser. They help keep the keys in line, making it easier to swivel them in and out of the Key Organiser. It also helps ensure your keys are held securely with tension but not overly tightened.

There are several ways to fully utilise the wave washers in your Key Organiser setup. Click here for tips on how to use wave washers.

Remember, your Key Organiser works best when a correct amount of tension is applied to the Locking Mechanism. Here's how to get the right tension:

    • Start by inserting and turning the screw gently.
    • When it almost gets to the right tension, you should also hear a tiny clicking sound every half a turn.
    • Test the tension after every half a turn by trying to flip or rotate your keys. You can stop turning when you feel a bit of resistance, and your keys are held securely.
